Aim training, and how to get better

A short guide to practising mouse aim — what the numbers mean, the speed-versus-accuracy balance, and how to use the trainer.

What this tool does

The Aim Trainer shows a target that jumps to a new random spot each time you hit it. Over a 15, 30 or 60-second round it counts your hits, your accuracy (hits versus total clicks), your targets per second, and your average time per target. It all runs in your browser.

What the numbers mean

  • Targets hit — how many you clicked in the round; the headline score.
  • Accuracy — hits ÷ total clicks. Missed clicks on empty space pull this down.
  • Targets / second — your speed; the higher the better.
  • Average time per target — how long, on average, between targets appearing and being hit.

Speed versus accuracy

The two pull against each other. Spamming clicks raises your rate but tanks accuracy; being too careful keeps accuracy perfect but slow. The goal is to push your targets per second up while keeping accuracy high — improve speed only as fast as your aim can stay clean.

How to use it

  1. Open the Aim Trainer.
  2. Pick a round length.
  3. Click the box to start, then click each target as it appears.
  4. At the end, read your hits, accuracy and targets per second; click to play again.

Tips for improving

  • Use a consistent mouse sensitivity so your muscle memory can settle.
  • Warm up before competitive play — a short round wakes up your aim.
  • Track your numbers over days, not minutes; progress is gradual.
  • Rest your wrist and hand to avoid strain.
