Which format should you pick?

Why your iPhone photos are HEIC in the first place
Since iOS 11, iPhones default to HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) because it stores the same photo in roughly half the space of JPEG. How do I convert HEIC to JPG?
Drop your .heic photos onto the tool and download the JPGs — conversion starts automatically. The HEIC decoder loads into your browser on demand, so even iPhone photos are converted on your own device, not on a server.
Are my photos uploaded to convert them?
No. Decoding and re-encoding happen entirely in your browser — nothing is sent anywhere, which is exactly what you want for a personal camera roll. It works offline once the page has loaded.
Why won’t HEIC files open on my computer?
HEIC is the iPhone’s space-saving default format, but Windows needs a free extension to display it, no browser shows it natively, and many apps and upload forms reject it. Converting to JPG makes the photo open everywhere.
Does converting reduce image quality?
JPG and WebP are lossy, so re-encoding discards a little detail — at the default 90% quality the difference is not visible for photos. PNG output is lossless. Either way, keep your originals and convert copies.
Can I convert many images at once?
