Everything runs locally in your browser — your business and client details are never uploaded. The PDF is built on your device, and the form auto-saves to this browser's local storage only, so your details are pre-filled next time on this machine. Use Clear & start over to remove the saved copy.

    How to make an invoice

    1. Fill in your business details, the client, and the invoice number and dates — the preview updates as you type.
    2. Add line items with a description, quantity and unit price; set a tax name and rate if you charge one (GST, VAT, sales tax).
    3. Press Download PDF for a clean, watermark-free PDF named after the invoice number — or Print it straight from the page.

    What belongs on an invoice?

At minimum: the word "Invoice", a unique invoice number, issue and due dates, your details, the client's details, itemised charges, tax shown separately, the total, and how to pay. The full checklist — including the payment-terms wording that actually gets invoices paid — is in how to write an invoice.

Where your data goes (and doesn't)

Most free invoice generators are lead magnets for paid accounting software — your client list and billing amounts go into their database on the way to your PDF. Here, nothing does: the invoice is laid out and the PDF generated entirely on your device, and the only copy kept is the auto-save in your own browser's local storage so repeat invoicing is fast.

    Frequently asked questions

Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes — no signup, no watermark, no trial that expires, no upsell to accounting software. Fill in the form and download a clean PDF; that is the whole product.

Is my business or client data uploaded?

No. The invoice is laid out and the PDF generated entirely in your browser. The only stored copy is an auto-save in your own browser’s local storage so your details pre-fill next time — Clear & start over removes it.

    What should an invoice include?

The word Invoice, a unique number, issue and due dates, your details, the client’s details, itemised charges, tax as a separate line, the total, and payment instructions. The tool covers all of them, with notes for bank details.

Can I use my own tax name and rate?

Yes — the tax line is fully editable, so label it GST, VAT, sales tax or anything else and set any rate. Subtotal, tax and total are always shown separately, which business customers need for tax claims.

Can I print the invoice instead of downloading it?

Yes. The Print button hides everything except the invoice preview, so your browser prints (or saves as PDF) just the document itself.
